The exhibition “Conflict of Interest” by Boris Bare, a well-known Croatian muralist and urban artist, explores socially engaged themes of post-transition society and its consequences. Through a series of illustrations and artworks, Bare reinterprets the identities of defunct companies and industrial giants that disappeared during privatization and economic collapse – such as TEŽ, Tomos, Uljanik, and others – raising questions about what these symbols mean today and what privatization has given and taken away from the community. Rather than relying on nostalgic documentation, the artist adopts a provocative and often ironic approach, examining feelings of loss, change, and fractured identity through a strong visual narrative.
